Stomach crunches are great and you should carry on doing them but we understand that no matter how hard you exercise, you can’t always achieve the results you want. A tummy tuck will improve the appearance of your stomach by tightening these muscles and removing the excess skin.
Abdominoplasty, commonly called a “tummy tuck,” is an operation to remove excess fat and skin from around the stomach. The aim is to produce a tighter, flatter stomach and it may also improve the appearance of stretch marks.
For the best results, you should be the correct weight for your height. The male abdominoplasty procedure is not a substitute for physical exercise and a balanced diet. It’s also not intended to help weight control.
You will generally be in hospital for one to two days and you will need two to three days of rest following the procedure. This procedure is performed under general anesthetic.
The days and weeks immediately following your surgery are critical to obtaining a good final result so you must follow your surgeon’s advice. You will receive pain relief to counter any discomfort that you have after the operation. You will also have to wear an elastic support on the operation site for several weeks. This will help to reduce swelling and improve your comfort. You should be able to return to work two to four weeks after the operation, but vigorous exercise is not recommended for at least six weeks.
Side effects of a successful operation may include a feeling of sickness from the general anesthetic, a swelling of the operation site and scarring that will reduce over time.
