From Dr. William Palin
A neck lift is an alternative to a more involved facelift for some patients. This is particularly the case with younger people who may not have excessive signs of aging on their neck or face as of yet but who need to get some work done to improve the appearance around the neck area.
This procedure is a surgery, and is typically done under general anesthesia or twilight anesthesia. It is not recommended for cases where people have excessive amounts of extra skin or fat in the front of the face or the chin. This procedure concentrates solely on the neck area and, in cases where people need extra work done, it is sometimes done in conjunction with a regular facelift procedure.
What to Expect
A neck lift is a surgery, so there is some recovery time to be expected. There will be some swelling and tenderness around the area operated on.
Dr. Palin will have to determine whether or not you are a good candidate for a neck lift. This will include taking a look at your allergies, your past history, your overall levels of health and so forth. If Dr. Palin believes that you are a good candidate for a neck lift, you may get this procedure done on its own or you may schedule other procedures to be done at the same time, if the doctor believes doing them at the same time would be more convenient and safer for you.
The extra flaps of skin, fat deposits and wrinkles that we develop on our necks over time are unmistakable signs of aging. Unfortunately, they occur far too soon in some people and tend to make people look much older than they actually are. With Dr. Palin’s assistance, this particular sign of aging can be reversed and the results can be very impressive.
